Steve Wozniak: Android will be the Dominant Smartphone OS

Steve Wozniak, Apple's co-founder today said that the Android will be the dominant smartphone platform. Le's hope Steve Jobs won't kick his co-founder for this.

The guy revealed in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that Apple had co-developed a phone that was just amazing with “a well-known Japanese consumer electro
nics company in 2004″.

Wozniak said in the interview that he believes Google’s Android platform will become the dominant mobile OS over time, rather than Apple’s iPhone. He likens Android’s success to that of Microsoft’s Windows operating system, along with the flaws and challenges of that model

Other words has been said by Woz about the quality of the iPhone:
The iPhone has very few weak points. There are no serious complaints or issues. When it comes to quality, the iPhone leads the way.

At the end of the interview, Wozniak also commented on Nokia slamming it as a “brand from a previous generation”. He suggested Nokia should launch a new brand specifically for youngsters. [via Engadget]

Google Docs Finally Comes to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Posted: 17 Nov 2010 02:39 PM PST

Google has just announced the release of a new documents editor for Google Docs, which will allow users to edit documents on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The previous mobile version of Google Docs allowed users to view documents in read-only mode. So by offering Google Docs on the iDevice, Google will be able to compete with Apple’s popular iWorks suite of apps for the iPad and other third party apps such as Documents to Go and Quickoffice that have been offering this capability for quite sometime now.

Now, since Google Docs will be free, it could be on the top of these apps offering the same feature.

That means that...
  • You can work on that important memo...while on the bus or train to work.
  • If you’re behind on a group proposal, but really want to make it to the ball game tonight, your whole team can work on it from the bleacher seats.
  • You can take minute-by-minute notes at a concert so you’ll always remember the setlist. And your friends can jealously follow in real-time at home.
  • ...and the list goes on!

If you’re a Google Docs users, you can check it out by pointing your iDevice’s Safari browser (iOS 3.0 or later) to docs.google.com and selecting the document that you want to edit.

So, will you give up other apps and be one of Google Docs users? Or you prefer using Apple’s iWork suite of apps or one of the other third party apps?

The next generation search is in our hands, the new "Google Goggles" app which is a great creation by google and this may also boosts the google searches to an extent. What is this new Google Googles do is to recognize the pictures we take around us starting from monuments, books, buildings to cars and more! it can also scan that picture and give you the web results of that one you have taken.

Another good thing about Google Goggles that it also recognizes voice search. This great Goggle search is very interesting and useful, if you are not aware of anything just take the picture of that thing and it will show you the relevant search result for that object.

Google experimented “Google Goggles” and here is the video of that Experiment:

You can download this App for Android or iPhone from the link given below directly:

Windows Phone 7 Jailbreak Soon

Away from Apple iOS devices, it looks like we will see a new jailbreak scene, but this time will be on Windows Phone 7 theater. This came few weeks after the launch of Windows Phone 7 around the world, so we are about to start the cat and mouse game.

According to iStartedSomething, an Australian developer called Chris Walshie was successfully able to prove a method to run “native unmanaged code" on a retail Windows Phone 7 device.

The pieces started falling into place when user “hounsell” on xda-developers.com noticed the a third-party application in the WP7 marketplace (Network Profile by Samsung) used “native” code, not Silverlight-managed code as all non-Microsoft apps should.

Upon closer inspection, he documented some interesting characteristics of the application that gave it its native capabilities – most notably a DLL called “Microsoft.Phone.InteropServices”, which if poked the right way provided COM access.

After this techie quotation, what is the conclusion ? what is the impact on the Windows Phone 7 user? We expect to see a method or a tool to jailbreak this OS very soon which will be followed by a third party jailbreak store apps just as iOS devices Cydia app store. Of course these jailbreak apps will give your WP7 phone new powers. What do you expect?

How to Watch Free Live TV Shows on iPad, Right Now

You can get free and live broadcast on your iPad right now by using a new internet service called FilmOn. This service lets you watch HD quality television shows from channels from NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, CNN and more from your iPad. Oh, the service also includes a channel for those people who like adult stuff.

It’s incredibly easy, and it don't require app, instead you can head on FilmOn.com via Safari browser from your iPad so you can browse all the channels provided by the service. Moreover, it allows you to pause the show, schedule i, and more things you can do with this service.

The TV networks, of course, will work very hard to shoot down this service and they have already filed lawsuits against FilmOn. The founder Alki David believes he is legally operating within existing US copyright law and plans to spend heavily to win his legal battle with the networks. So FilmOn might survive ! [AllThingsD, via RedmondPie]
